salt lake city

Well, my friends of the inter web, this right here is a little trip that I took to Salt Lake City. Abigail's sister, Imogen, came up to Rexburg to visit for Abigail's birthday. In her coming,  not only did Abi just have a grand of time, but she also got to show her sister what it is that she loves about Rexburg. But once the trip was done, Imogen needed to return home. And home is San Diego. So to the airport she needed to go. The original plan was to send Imogen on a bus at 2 a.m. down to Salt Lake, where she would then be picked up by a friend and driven down to Provo, where she was going to fly out of.  Which was completely fine! But being the best friend that I am, came up with a plan that allowed it for me Abi, and Imogen to drive down together as a small road trip to take her to SLC. In this trip, not only did Abi and I get to bond a bit more, (which was needed) but we had the opportunity to go to Temple Square. It was my very first time ever going to Temple Square.

I. Fell. Absolutely. In. Love. Temple Square is BREATHTAKING.

I literally just saw the temple out of the corner of the window when I was driving towards it and I started sobbing. The Spirit was incredibly strong. I'd say it was overwhelming to say the least. It was like the veil was lifted a bit and I saw the beauty of the plan of salvation unfold in front of me. And then my heart hurt because I knew that my family wasn't going to feel the same when if they ever got the chance to see this place. I mean I pray that they will have their hearts softened at some point, but from the way they say, I'll do their work for them when they're dead. Which is sad, but I mean, at least they're letting me when they are passed on. BUT STILL. I wish they could feel what I felt that day, and that they were able to see what I did. However, it was such comfort to have Abi with me the entire time. She just understood everything SO well, and ALL without me telling her anything. She just knew what to do the entire time, and that was a blessing. Anyways, SLC and Temple Square have my heart and I cannot wait to share that place with my family one day.
