holy blessings
Guys. I'm literally balling my eyes out as I write this. My heart is filled with so much gratitude and thankfulness for all the people around the WORLD who pay their tithing.
Background: BYU-Idaho's school tuition is subsidized over 60% because of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints tithing program. Latter Day Saints around the world are asked to donate 10% of their earnings to help with the costs of the church. For example: temple construction/reconstruction, missionary efforts, humanitarian needs, printing of pamphlets and Book of Mormon copies, AND subsidizing the costs of education at the CES (Church Education Schools) schools.
BYU, BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College, Pathways and BYU-Idaho are all CES, and all of them offer some portion of the subsidization of tuition. This platform is specifically tailored so that students can get an education founded not only on the principles of their desired field of study, but also founded on the cornerstones of the LDS religion.
Fast forward to now, I am a junior studying Data Science at BYU-Idaho, and I am currently paying my schooling with a partial BYU-Idaho scholarship and my FAFSA aid. Yesterday I received this email:
MEANING.... I just got the TWO OF THE LAST THREE SEMESTERS COMPLETELY PAID FOR. Meaning all the FAFSA aid I will still receive, will go straight to my medical bills and student loans. Jaden and I have been praying for the opportunity to get a job or just a way to financially be able to make it, and then BOOM. Heavenly Father blesses us with this.
I know it's silly, but Jaden and I forgot to pay tithing on his last pay check from being a TA. I just realized it yesterday afternoon while I was going over our budget. So I quickly logged into my LDS.org account and paid it really quick, adding in our small (for now) fast offering for this next month and submitted it. I didn't think much of it. But then when I got home after physical therapy and I was just starting to relax, my phone buzzed with this email.
I know it was just another amazing blessing Heavenly Father had been cooking up for us for a while, he was just waiting for us to do what he has asked us to do (pay our tithing in this example). I can tell you all right now, with every fiber of my being that there is a Heavenly Father who know everything about you with or without you having a personalized relationship with him. But I also know that if you don't have that relationship, He LONGS for YOU. He wants you to come unto Him and simply be his friend.
This is a holy blessing my friends, and I am just so thrilled to have been able to share it with you all!
